Personal Assistant under the National Programme

     Personal Assistant under the National Programme is a social service provide by the Social Assistance Department – Dve Mogili, according to Methods for providing the service "Personal Assistant".

     The main purpose of the programme is taking care for people with disabilities or serious ill lonely people in a family environment by appointing unemployed people as personal and social assistants.

• The activity "Personal Assistant" aims to provide employment for unemployed people for relieving families where there are people with disabilities, who need regular care.
• The activity “Social Assistant” aims to provide employment for unemployed people to meet daily needs, organize the leisure time of people with disabilities or serious ill lonely people by making activities with their social participation.
• Providing employment for unemployed people as personal assistants to people with disabilities, taken out from specialized institutions to family environment. The assistants provide quality care and create conditions for their social participation.

Range of people, who are in the programme:
     Unemployed people, helped under article 9 from RILSA (Regulations for Implementing the Law for Social Assistance) or who suit requirements for receiving this kind of help and taking regular care of people with disabilities or seriously ill people. Unemployed people, who are taking care for people taken out from specialized institutions or for children with disabilities.

Personal Assistant under OPHRD (Operative Programme “Human Resources Development”)

     The purpose of the procedure is improving the quality of life of people, who need constant help in their everyday life, also improving the life of families with people with disabilities, who need care.

     The scheme is directed to people with disabilities and people who live alone, who are not able to take care of themselves. The programme has the purpose to extend the possibilities for “Personal assistant” service and to improve the care for these people, to improve the quality of life and reduce the risk of depending on the institutional type of care.
