Independence Celebrations in Dve Mogili
Wednesday, 15 September 2010 00:00

On the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of Bulgaria’s independence, Dve Mogili Municipality together with the Youth Network "Preserve the Bulgarian" are preparing a ceremonial program. On 21 September guests and citizens of the town of Dve Mogili attending the celebrations will be able to see the concert of Veselin Marinov. Some young people from the initiative "Preserve the Bulgarian" in Ruse will arrive by train at Dve Mogili railway station on 22 September at 8:45 a.m.

There they will be welcomed by the Mayor of the municipality Mr. Dragomir Damyanov. The official ceremony will begin at 9.00 a.m. In the station foyer an exhibition dedicated to the Bulgarian independence will be opened. We would like to remind you that in the early hours of 22 September 1908 on the way to Veliko Turnovo, when the royal train stopped at Dve Mogili railway station, the Prime Minister Aleksandar Malinov wrote the text of the Manifesto of the independence proclamation. On this occasion in 2008 a memorial plaque was placed there.

The program will continue with a youth concert "Preserve the Bulgarian", and later on the official guests and representatives of various institutions and clubs will participate in a roundtable conference about the "Cultural Heritage and Tourism". They will put an accent on the discussion about the opportunities for partnership between youth organizations and institutions in Bulgaria in the field of tourism and popularization of cultural heritage.
